Description:
Work started almost one year ago on the Angoulême store of Galeries Lafayette, and Wednesday will see the inauguration of this key fashion store, with 20% discounts being offered across all product ranges.
The re-modelling work has removed false ceilings and put an end to the stifling heat and artificial lighting that prevailed in the previous set-up. Removing the ceilings has revealed a loft-style architecture, and allowed in natural light. New escalators have been installed, as well as a lift allowing access for the disabled and people with prams and push-chairs.
Store director Régis Cohen announced that the store has dispensed with its leisure section (CDs, DVDs, books etc) to focus on what the company does best, perfumes, fashion accessories and ready-to-wear fashion. The store will have a large area dedicated to menswear, with up to thirty new marques being introduced to make sure there is something for all budgets.
The store will be inaugurated on 26 November.
