It's that simple.
The Fat Goose
The Fat Goose is a business run by Jon and Rachel Lee, who moved to France in November 2007 with their three children Rebecca, Holly and Thomas. They offer British foods at a considerable saving over the local supermarkets and other outlets, keeping their overheads low by operating from their home in Sompt (Deux Sevres), and using their well presented internet site to promote their products. You can view their website by clicking here.
Getting your goodies
They offer a delivery service within 20 miles of Sompt, and beyond that send out orders using La Poste, but are keen to encourage people to visit them at their home in Deux Sevres, where it is possible to browse the product range in their converted barn (although it is advisable to ring first). Jon says "there are people who either do not use the internet or who dislike shopping online, and this service is intended to help The Fat Goose be accessible to a broader range of people." For orders over 50€ a free local delivery service (20 miles/30km radius) is available.
Great products
The great prices on offer mean that the next 6 weeks are going to be busy with people stocking-up on their favourites in good time for Christmas. Jon says "we now have a range of both French and British food hampers that make excellent gifts for people with friends and family living abroad, as well as some festive products like luxury Christmas puddings, cranberry sauce, Cadburys selection boxes and much more."
Beyond France
Jon and Rachel are no strangers at importing food, as they set-up The Fat Goose while they were still living in England, importing French products to local bars and restaurants (something they have continued to do). On moving to France, it was a natural progression to switch their focus to British goods, but the business extends beyond the French borders, with items being posted as far as Australia, the USA and Canada.
You can secure your British favourites in time for Christmas by checking out The Fat Goose website, or by visiting their advert in our Business Directory.
