Description:
The 13th Festival de la Fiction TV gets underway tomorrow in La Rochelle, with free screenings of unseen French TV films and programmes.
Over 50 films will be on offer over the 5 days of the festival, giving visitors an early view of what is coming up for the 2011/12 season. Some 1800 industry professionals (such as actors, directors, stage managers, technicians and broadcasters) will be on hand to meet the expected 25,000 visitors, and to attend the various festival events.
The festival itself gets underway Wednesday (7 Sept) for the industry professionals, with the first public screening on Thursday (8 Sept) for the general public. The headline event of the weekend will be Saturday’s screening of the Marseille based soap opera ‘Plus belle la vie’ (France 3), followed by an autograph session with the actors. Saturday’s prize-giving ceremony is at the Espace Encan, but is by invitation only.
Public screenings will be held at the Dragon CGR cinema in La Rochelle, although the festival village is located at the Espace Encan. Entry is free. For further information visit the official website.
