Monday 25 Aug 2008 - Limoges, FranceA Ryanair flight carrying British holidaymakers was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Limoges due to loss of cabin pressure.
Flight FR9336 from Bristol to Barcelona Girona airport was diverted to Limoges on Monday night, with 16 passengers being treated in hospital for earache. Ryanair said the captain of the Spain-bound flight had descended and diverted the flight to Limoges at about 23.30 local time "as a safety precaution". All 168 passengers disembarked safely upon landing.
In total, 16 passengers complaining of earache, together with five accompanying family members, were taken to a local hospital. Ryanair said a replacement aircraft had been flown from Stansted Airport to Limoges and had taken the remaining passengers to Barcelona.
The 16 passengers who had been examined in hospital, and five who accompanied them contined their journey by coach, along with 18 others who had hosen not to fly. The plane had been met by a fleet of emergency vehicles on arrival at Limoges, a popular airport with those living in the east of Poitou Charentes.
