Football - New stadium and new league for UES Montmorillon

05 June 2010

Description:

After one season of purgatory, the macaroons of Montmorillon will start the 2010/11 football season in the Division d’Honneur, and in their newly re-built Stade Jean Ranger.

A comprehensive home victory in the final and decisive match of the season against relegated Tulle saw the black and whites take the league title and secure their place back in the top division of the Ligue Centre Ouest.  Hotshot forward Jerome Billac rounded off his 16 goal tally for the season with a fine hat-trick to ease the nerves of the 400 spectators.

The club will start next season under the stewardship of a new manager, as league-winning coach Jean-Pierre Bernard leaves to take over at Angouleme.  Former Buxerolles manager Bruno Daudin will take on the challenge of consolidating their place in the DH next season.

UES Montmorillon has teams for all ages, including four senior teams and a girls team.  You can visit their website for further information.
