Description:

May 15th 2010, Vic Heaney will set off walking from his home in Puivert, in the French Pyrenees to Blackpool, in Northern England (passing through Poitou Charentes).

There are three objectives:

Objective One

To walk 30 kms a day, for 70 days.

Objective Two

To reach, on the 70th day -  his 70th birthday - the house where he was born exactly 70 years earlier.

Objective Three

To raise £7,000 or more, through donations, for Pancreatic Cancer research.  Advances have been made in the treatment of many cancers, but not in this particularly vicious form of the disease.  Vic’s first wife Gaile died from pancreatic cancer and, like many people, he knows that survival after diagnosis is normally only a few short weeks.

Vic is aiming to raise £7000 and is almost halfway there.  You can help by donating to Pancreatic Cancer UK at:
