Most French airports including Limoges and Poitiers are to remain closed until 8am tomorrow morning.

A press release today confirmed that some southern airports will remain open: Marseille, Nice, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Montpellier, Pau Tarbes, Biarritz and Perpignan – this situation will be reassessed at 3pm today.

Easyjet and BA have cancelled all their UK and Northern Europe flights today, and Ryanair has cancelled their’s until Wednesday.

The situation with the Volcanic Ash started on Thursday the 15^th of April and is set to cause problems for many days to come.  However, Air France and KLM have run a series of empty test flights and no problems were detected, airlines are now calling for the flight ban to be lifted.

Airlines have lost millions due to the chaos, but Eurostar and the ferries companies have benefitted.  Eurostar is running extra trains and the ferries companies have seen a high demand for foot passengers.
