A new 42 hectare development for flying enthusiasts could be built near the Vienne village of Availles-Limouzine, with developers submitting their plans to the local council today (Saturday 17 April).

If permission is granted, the Green Airpark will be the fourth development of its type in France, offering buyers the chance to own a home with a hangar in which to keep their aeroplane, and free access to two separate runways.

This 42 hectare project would see 33 new properties built, near to two separate runways, one grass and one tarmac.  The project is expected to attract aviation enthusiasts, who want to own a holiday home in the country where they can gain access directly by plane.  Promoters are hoping to attract buyers mainly from the UK.

There are currently two established air parks in Vendée and another at Biscarosse.
