President Sarkozy due back in Charente Maritime tomorrow

15 March 2010

Description:

French president Nicolas Sarkozy will again visit Charente Maritime and Vendee tomorrow (Tues 16 March) along with key members of his cabinet as a follow up to his visit on 1 March, in the aftermath of storm Xynthia.

He will give an update on progress towards implementation of assistance measures, and to talk about preventative action to protect against future storms.

The prefecture of La Rochelle will welcome M Sarkozy at 10h45, and a hour later he will arrive at Charron north of La Rochelle, one of the areas worst affected by the storm.  He will meet victims of the storm, a farmer and rescue services.  He will later give a speech at the general council in Vendee.
