Description:
As was widely expected, budget airline Ryanair has ended its route between London Stansted and Angouleme-Cognac airports for good, but there is hope that another airline will step in and offer services this summer, according to Sud Ouest.
Whilst Ryanair have yet to officially announce the move, they have yet to offer any flights for sale on the route, and have written to Patrick Berthault (president of the mixed trade-union of the Charente airport) informing him that Ryanair will not be offering services in 2010 or in the future.
Airport representatives are in the process of negotiating with other airlines in order to maintain commercial flights going forward, with three routes expected to be announced to Marseille, Lyon and possibly London Gatwick from June.
