Stormy weather is headed for Charente Maritime and Gironde tonight, according to Sud Ouest.

The strongest gusts are expected to reach the Charente Maritime coastline between 11pm tonight and 2am tomorrow morning, with winds of between 100kmh and 120kmh out at the coast, with 80kmh to 100kmh gusts further inland towards Saintonge.  Charente will also be affected, with gusts of between 70kmh and 90kmh.  The gale force winds will be accompanied by heavy rain.

A further storm is predicted to hit the region’s coastline on Saturday.
