Mini Treasure Hunt Challenge in Charente

05 February 2010

Description:

The treasure hunt planned for Saturday 30th of January was cancelled due to snow the new date has been confirmed as the 6th of March.

Local translator Debbie Bradbury has devised a new way for British people in the Charente Limousine to discover the local area, and at the same time have a bit of fun.  This is the second Treasure Hunt Rally and will take place on Saturday 6th of March 2010.

The event will start from an as yet secret rendez-vous (first clue to be sent on reception of entry form) at 11am.  The day will finish off at around 5pm, where participants will rendez-vous for quiz sheets to be marked, and for aperitifs and prize giving.

This mini treasure hunt will take place in and around one town in the Charente, however places are limited and entry forms need to be emailed asap.

There is an entry fee of 5€ per person over 16 (under 16’s free) which covers the insurance and other costs for the event.  For full details of the event and how you can take part, click here to access the Guide2 Events section.

Here are some comments from the people who took part in the last treasure hunt challenge

The Williams family

"We had a fab day - thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and being the rather surprised winners, it made it extra special!  Well done Debbie once again for organising a great day out."

Louise, Andy and Ian

"We Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your effort and time on Sunday.  It was a brilliant day and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  Well done"

David

"We had a brilliant day. Thank you for organising such a fantastic event.  I know how much hard work must have gone into it."

Derek and Sue

"I would just like to say a very BIG thanks for all your hard work into organising a superb day out traversing roads and visiting places we would not perhaps even had thought of going to.  You may have just found a new role in life as I am sure others like me will be wanting more of the Debbie brain teasers. Sunday we are told is a day of rest, I have never worked so hard on a Sunday for ages, but oh what fun!"

Golding Family

"One of our reasons for taking the leap over the water was to have more family time. Since moving to France we dived straight into starting our business along with renovating our home and that of two others into Gites. When we are at home we never seem to find the time to have fun, so the treasure hunt was a fantastic way to get us out as a FAMILY to have fun and explore this beautiful part of France.  Will we do it again?   Try stopping us!     When's the next one?  A fantastically organised event, credit to Debbie and her helpers."
