Futuroscope’s newest attraction ‘Arthur the 4D adventure’ has helped the region’s flagship theme park smash its 2008 festive visitor numbers by a staggering 20,000.

110,000 people visited Futuroscope over the Christmas holidays, compared with 90,000 in 2008, and it is believed that film director Luc Besson’s new creation has been the catalyst.

The theme park is now closed until 6 February, but management took time out to reflect on 2009 performance, which shows that the park is going from strength to strength.  1.7 million people visited in 2009, some 82,000 more than in 2008, and all against a backdrop of the financial crisis.
