Star couple arrive in style at Fort Boyard, Charente-Maritime

Basketball superstar Tony Parker and his wife Eva Longoria arrived in Charente-Maritime at the weekend, as surprise first guests on the popular TV show Fort Boyard.

The couple arrived by private jet and chauffeur driven limousine on Saturday, for the first day of filming for the new series of the show.  They spent the night in Chatelaillon before leaving on Sunday for Paris, to watch the end of the French Open Tennis.

Tony Parker plays basketball for San Antonio Spurs in America, whilst Eva Longoria is best known for her role in the TV series Desperate Housewives.

Crew on the set were taken by surprise by the arrival of such world famous stars, as their participation had been a closely guarded secret by the show's producers.

Fort Boyard (the programme) was first broadcast in 1990, and is similar in format to Crystal Maze in the UK, where contestants complete challenges to win cash prizes.  The show has spawned many replica series around the world.

The show will be aired towards the end of June on France 2.
