Organisers of key music festivals in Poitou-Charentes are in the final throws of putting together their set lists for this summer, and there are some great acts heading for the region during July.
The increasingly popular Garden NEF Party festival in Angoulême is being headlined by the award winning Glaswegian rock band Franz Ferdinand, who will take to the stage at the Ferme des Vallettes on Friday 17 July. Headliners on Saturday 18 July are American punk rockers Gossip, who had recent UK success with 'standing in the way of control,' the title of both a hit single and album. The Ting Tings will also appear on the Saturday, whilst organisers have just announced that American indie rockers Cold War Kids will also feature.
There was exciting news this week from organisers of the Blues Passions festival in La Rochelle, who have not only bagged legendary blues guitarist BB King for the 23 July, but have also persuaded Welsh singer Duffy to perform a set on 24 July.
