Description:
It sounds like an April Fools day yarn, but Ryanair's latest poll to find out which 'tax' they should introduce next has resulted in overwhelming support for the idea of a 'fat tax'.
The Times offers an interesting view on the subject, and seems to give credence to the possibility that Ryanair is positioning itself to say that passengers are demanding the new tax.
With United Airlines in America the latest airline to introduce such a measure, it could be that the time is right for Ryanair to do the unthinkable. The United Airlines rules now stipulate that 'passengers too large to fit comfortably in a coach seat may be required to buy a second ticket, or upgrade to Business Class if two seats are not available.'
