Floral and Rose Garden in Poitiers, Vienne

The Floral and Rose garden in Poitiers is next to the Exhibition Centre at Touffenet, this floral garden (3.5 ha.) has a magnificent collection of 9,000 rose trees and 465 other species of plants.  This park, created in 1972, has been constantly developed, acquiring an important and valuable collection of flowers.   Here, the iris, dahlias, day-lilies and peonies explode with colours. There are also aquatic and rock gardens, as well as over one hundred trees and shrubs.  Organized around ornamental lakes, the gardens are a real haven of tranquility.

Each March, the gardeners give a demonstration of rose pruning which always draws an appreciative crowd.
