Futuroscope Competition - Win FREE tickets

The 3D cinemas, attractions and shows at Futuroscope are all well and good, but when it comes to useful inventions of the future, I think that the boffins ought to start thinking along more practical lines.

I’m compiling a list of things that I want the world’s top scientists to invent, but having only managed to come up with the following suggestions, I need some ideas from our Guide2 members to pad-out my letter.

Alcohol may or may not have played a part when I came up with the following suggestions:

A dashboard-mounted crystal ball - I’ve all but given up trying to second-guess the direction of travel of many drivers in France, particularly at roundabouts.  I can’t imagine there’s much demand for replacement indicator bulbs in this part of the world, and therefore a crystal-ball may be the only way to help me stop cursing in front of the children.

The Babel Fish - I can’t take credit for this one, as it was Douglas Adams who introduced the concept in his Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy.  Put this small fish in your ear, and you will be able to understand any language in the galaxy.  I need one that will help me understand France Telecom over the telephone.  Impossible!

The Cool Pill - I’ve tried singing on Singstar, busting some breakdance moves and learning a few chords on the guitar, but none of this makes me cool in the eyes of my children.  I’m forever lagging behind their super-cool hip-hop teacher and practically every other human being on Earth when the question of coolness is considered.  Come on guys, I need some help!

For your chance to win FREE tickets for two adults and two children for the region’s flagship tourist attraction Futuroscope, just leave a comment below with something you want the boffins to invent in the future.

We have three sets of four tickets to give away, and as this isn’t a writing competition, we’ll draw the winner at random after the competition closes at midnight on 5 April 2010.

Good luck!
