The Mckenna Family diary - part 10
Hi Readers
Here is chapter 10 of my diary
Well sorry for not getting back to you but Flu etc. my editorial boss was very forgiving. I could have had a blood test to see if it was swine flu, but that would have been very expensive and not reimbursable.
So when my husband and I received the call up for our children to have the swine flu vaccine we talked about what would happen if they caught it and what would happen with the vaccine and in our opinion not as bad as having the actual flu so we told the collage that they were to have the vaccine.
They had no side effects except for 3 days the usual sore arm but nothing else.
So we are swine free. So onto a happier note we all hope that you all had happy xmas and new year, please do not admit that you all drank and ate too much because we all know that you did!
We had a quiet xmas with just the immediate family staying indoors in the warm in front of a lovely log fire, like most of our village, but when we did go out and saw anyone they were so friendly and as usual welcoming saying Bonne Annee or if they could speak English a happy new year.
I have actually found a woman in our village who is teaching me French over the internet as she travels a lot with her husband, she decided that that would be the easiest answer Gratuit !
My son has informed me that Ryan Air is running all the way through the winter to Stanstead but we always check as everyone should do.
It seems that every bodies sky boxes etc, have a problem so it is keeping our oldest son busy at the moment.
He really enjoys it as it is a hobby not only a job and as an added extra he can speak French as easily as English.
We still have snow frozen solid at the moment here it seems strange that just 10 minutes drive away it is totally clear but that is French weather for you and we are not complaining as this country seems to be much more prepared than other countries.
If there is a traffic problem the local farmer or marie comes to help with their tractor or gets the local garage out of bed!
Coming back to you soon
