Welcome

Au Bellefleur is a chambres d’hôtes located in the Charente in South West France, run by an Anglo Dutch couple, Darren and Franca with a little help from their daughter fleur.

Our chambres d’hôtes is open all year round and as well as providing bed & breakfast accommodation, we can offer evening meals upon request. We give you the service of a hotel with the friendliness of staying in a B&B.

Facilities

Au Bellefleur has a private lounge for guests, ‘Le Bistro’, with a multi-lingual library, not just of books, but also games for young and old.

We serve breakfast and dinner in ‘Le Bistro’ when it’s a bit fresh outside and when the evenings are getting cooler, you can sit around the fire with a glass of something warming. When the sun is shining especially in the summer we serve breakfast and dinner outside on the terrace.

Au Bellefleur has a spacious garden with cherry trees, a fig tree, prunes, wallnuts and of course apples from our own ‘Bellefleur’ apple tree. You are free to sit in the shade under our natural ‘umbrellas’ or soak up the sun all day long, come and go as you please during your stay with us.

Rooms

All our rooms are newly refurbished with modern luxury en-suite bathrooms.

We have tried to retain as much of the character of the building to make your stay a cosy one whether it is for a weekend break or a longer stay.

All our rooms have complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, as well as toiletries, hair dryer and alarm clock radio. You are also welcome to join us in a complimentary drink on your arrival.

Porte-Bonheur

This spacious luxury bedroom is on the east side of the house, it has a large luxury en-suite bathroom with modern sink, bath, freestanding shower and separate toilet. A large Velux window in the bathroom provides plenty of daylight. The room is mainly decorated in white with red accents and comfortable arm chairs give the room an extra dimension. There is space for an extra single bed if required. In short a real 'bringer of happiness'.

Nature

A spacious double bedroom on the north side of the house, ‘Nature’ is cosy in winter and cool in summer. Through the Velux window you can enjoy the beautiful stars at night, or close the blind if they get too bright. Of course this room has its own private bathroom with sink, toilet and luxury shower. The room is decorated in white with green and natural wood accents to give it a light and airy feel.

Tournesol

This sunny luxury room is on the south side of the house with views over the garden and the vineyards beyond. The original stone wall has been repaired to create a cosy atmosphere. The 2 windows let the sunshine flood in into the white decorated room with yellow accents. There is space for an additional bed if required and the spacious en-suite bathroom has a sink, toilet and luxury shower.

Prices start from 55€ for a double or twin room including breakfast.

Dining

For 25€ per person, we would be more than happy to cook you a 4 course meal, where we try to use as much local produce as possible, the way the French do. To accompany your meal we offer you a carafe of house wine and of course you can drink more if you wish for a small charge. Weather permitting dinner will be served outside. To provide you with the best possible quality, we would like to know during breakfast if you are eating in Au Bellefleur in the evening, or when you make your reservation.
