Description:

The grounds of Camping Marco de Bignac extend to 8.25 hectares (over 20 acres) embracing a spectacular lake of nearly 4 hectares (10 acres); the perimeter measuring almost 1 kilometre is securely fenced.  Mature trees fringe the lake, home to some impressive fish, including carp.  In the camping area the trees are arranged formally to delineate the 89 pitches that Camping Marco has to offer.  The three-star rated camp-site, which includes a popular bar and restaurant, attracts a cross-section of nationalities.

Camping Marco de Bignac offers you the space and freedom to spend a quiet and restful holiday.  If your preference is more active our many sports facilities are at your disposal, free of charge.  Otherwise walk, cycle or motor in this region of France which is blessed with an exceptional climate - an area today unspoiled and largely undiscovered despite its fascinating history reflected in nearby cities such as Angoulême, Cognac and Saintes with their impressive Roman remains and magnificent castles together with churches and cathedrals that are masterpieces of Norman architecture.

Whether you wish to explore the surrounding countryside (substantially devoted to the grape-vine), towns or villages, taste the wine and food products or spend time on site using the facilities, visiting the bar / restaurant or simply relaxing, the choice is yours.  Camping Marco de Bignac is here to help you enjoy the holiday you want.

Camping

There are 89 camping pitches, of which 80 are equipped with electric hook-up (3 amp or 6 amp). All the pitches are spacious, roomy and partially shaded by trees all with a minimum size of 100m². The pitches are located around the 2 shower blocks and close to the facilities that we offer on site. 

Our Rentals

Mobile Homes - Available April to October
There are 2 luxury mobile homes to rent; both have a lounge area, dining area, 3 bedrooms consisting of a double bedded room and 2 twin-bedded rooms. All of the bedrooms are equipped with duvets and pillows. Both mobile homes have a fully equipped kitchen with a built in oven and grill, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, pots, pans, cutlery and glasses.  Both mobile homes are double glazed and have central heating for the cooler months of the year.

Facilities

Bar / Restaurant

Camping Marco de Bignac has a fully licensed bar / restaurant.   Meals are served daily during our high season from 12 noon until 14:00 and in the evening from 18:00 until 21:00.

The bar is open all year round.

Fishing
If you fancy some quality time why not take a few hours fishing in the lake.  The on-site lake is well stocked with carp (mirror, grass, leather and common), black-bass, pike, perch, roach, tench, bream and eels. Fishing is free of charge to all holiday residents. However, as fishing is free we do expect the fish to be returned to the lake.

Shop
A small convenience shop is situated at the rear of the bar carrying basics all year round. 

Markets: Most of the local villages hold markets weekly on various days around the region.  These are a great way to spend a morning where you can find fresh oysters, mussles, fish and everything from tractors to chickens at some of the bigger town markets.

On the 27th of each month a spectacular all day market is held in the historical town of Rouillac.  This is one of the biggest agricultural fairs of its type in France; it takes up the whole town and is well worth a visit.

Leisure on site (free to all holiday residents)

Swimming Pool
Open daily from 10:00 - 21:00 during the period June to September. The swimming pool is 25m x 10m. There are plenty of loungers, chairs, benches and parasols located around the pool for use free of charge.
Please note: the swimming pool is not supervised.  All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Animals
There is a small pet's corner in which we have a Shetland pony (Nellie) and a goat (Lightning).
